The clouds seem to reflect the cotton that is growing in this cotton field near Clarksdale, Mississippi.
Cotton is one of the many crops grown in the Mississippi Delta. For years it was the main one but over the years soybeans, wheat, rice and others have been a part of each year's harvest. Cotton is planted in the early summer and is usually harvested beginning in September and continuing into November.
The cotton is picked using mechanized pickers that dump the picked cotton into a trailer. It is then taken to a bailing machine where it is compressed into huge bails weighing several thousand pounds.
