Description

This is a hood ornament from a restored 1940 Chevrolet. In 1940 the car listed for $766 and was the last year that independent and solid axle front ends were offered.

Numerous changes occurred to the Chevy during this period of time when General Motors was rolling its 25 millionth car off the assembly line. Things such as new headlight and front grille design were some of the new features.

More than 760,000 of the new model were produced, up almost 200,000 from 1939 production.
