Description
Can't you just hear, "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" when viewing this? This old church was built in 1878 to server the tenant workers of Mont Helena Plantation deep in the Mississippi Delta. The church is gradually succumbing to the elements and doesn't have very long left. This image was shot during a driving rainstorm. Since this was done, the church has leaned even more.

I want to know more about the church when I look at this photo. The stories it could tell. Like an old man, it leans but still has strength to stand and go on

Neat foggy B&W capture, T Lowry! Love how the church is leaning. It has definitely stood the test of time and looks like it is on it's last leg!

Your choice of black and white, along with the fact that the church is hardly standing, makes for one powerful image. Well done; outstanding composition.
