The Mississippi Delta is always full of surprises. There is nothing like waking up to a a beautiful early morning sunrise in the with the sun shining through the back window of an old late 40s Chevrolet pickup truck.

This model of the Chevy truck was manufactured for several years with only minor changes in the body style and window arrangements. This particular truck hasn't run in years and gets pushed around on the grounds of the Shack Up Inn near Clarksdale, Mississippi.

The Shack Up Inn is a great place to experience the land and people of the Delta. With a selection of old sharecropper shacks that have been converted for overnight use by the addition of heating and air conditioning as well as indoor toilets. Other than those few amenities the old shack are pretty much as they were before they were moved from the local plantations onto the grounds of the former Hopson Plantation and Cotton Gin.
