Artist's Description
The Natchez Trace Parkway is a historic 444 mile path from Nashville, Tennessee to Natchez, Mississippi. The Parkway is a national park that roughly follows the original commerce route between Nashville and Natchez where goods were traded at the port in Natchez on the Mississippi River.
Evidence of the original route can be seen in several places along the parkway and in some areas hiking trails join the old road. This particular section near Clinton, Mississippi.
This image was made early on a foggy fall morning at sunrise. The clouds are accentuated by the purple and orange rising above the tree line. The hay is peaking in out of the low lying fog.
