Description
The front of the old Frisco Meteor 4500 locomotive is accentuated by the blue sky overhead. The old train resides in the Route 66 Historical Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The converted diesel locomotive pulled a passenger train between Oklahoma CIty and St Louis via Tulsa and is one of three of twenty-five Northern class Baldwin 4-8-4s built during World War II.
The locomotives sported a distinctive blue, white and gray paint scheme and the "Meteor" was across the tender in red lettering.
