Along the Natchez Trace Parkway there are several areas where the original trace parallels the current roadbed. This beautiful fall landscape photograph of a winding path that was once the original Natchez Trace was made close the northern terminus, near Columbia, TN. It was made in the fall with a misting rain.
The Natchez Trace follows a 444 mile path from the northern terminus near Nashville, Tennessee to the southern terminus at Natchez, Mississippi. Along the current road are numerous areas where you can see and walk the original route as well as other historic stops.
