Artist's Description
The back door of an old brothel in Galena, Kansas. The ladies that own the "4 Women on the Route" service station across the street have been trying to turn it into a bed and breakfast and the last information is that they had succeeded.
The original owners of the old house were rumored to have hidden $50,000 in cash in the walls of the house. Over the years, treasure hunters have torn the walls apart looking for the stash only to be disappointed each time.
This B&B was one of four whorehouses in the town, known for lead mining, is located on the original Route 66 roadway that stretches across America from Chicago to Los Angeles.
The door with its yellow and red trim is framed by a texture of pealing blue paint accented by a missing light bulb.
